This doorway, framed with stained-glass sidelights and adorned with a seasonal spray, illustrates the challenge of designing for multiple objectives. The general lighting level has to be high enough to light the entrance, but not so bright as to overpower the backlit stained-glass windows. Plus, we want to highlight the spray. The solution - a dimmer moderates output from the overhead light fixture and a low-voltage flood mounted on the back of the fixture accents the dried flower arrangement.
